Quandamooka Coast launched its Junior Rangers program in 2019 and has a mob of very eager eco-rangers ready to learn about Quandamooka Country and lend a hand!

Led by Quandamooka Coast’s indigenous guides, the junior rangers spend a number of hours when they come and take part in a Junior Ranger activity learning about flora and fauna, indigenous culture and heritage or land and sea management here on Minjerribah.

The young Rangers learn about the importance of Caring for the Land, Sea all through a Quandamooka lens – particularly what is the traditional way things were done. They also look at environmental impacts on the island and find outcomes to fix the problems.

One of the first programs the Junior Rangers has been involved in was to assess the Impacts of Marine Debris in the bay.  The Junior Rangers have now created signs to educate people as they walk on our beaches.

Recently the program was involved with some filming with Totally Wild.
